The smoky version of our constantly available core range, ‘St. Kilian PEATED – Rich & Smoky’, uses heavily peated barley malt from the Scottish Highlands with a phenol content of 54 ppm. This single malt whisky is made up of matured distillates, 70% of which were aged in various ex Bourbon casks and 30% in ex Pedro Ximénez and ex Oloroso sherry casks. The result is a whisky with an intense blend of grilled apricots, creamy toffee and subtle oak spice, wrapped in warming peat smoke.

The beguiling fruit bouquet of grilled apricots, juicy pears and ripe bananas is refined with sweet vanilla and a squeeze of lime, perfectly surrounded by mild peat smoke and complemented by dry ash tones with cooling mint.

Palate
Full-bodied sweet and fruity with vanilla, apricots and pears, in harmonious interplay with creamy toffee and delicate peat smoke, which elegantly underlines the warming oak spice with a pinch of white pepper and fresh mint.

Finish
Soothingly warming with creamy fruit compote as well as dark toffee, which are long-lasting underpinned by ashy smoke and a discreet dry oak spiciness.
