Whisky is always strongly connected to the people who produce it. Their ideas and experiences shape its style just as much as the stills do.
However, it's not just the people in the spotlight, such as the Master Blender or the Distillery Manager – every employee, from the Mash Man to the person responsible for the warehouses, contributes to making a distillery's whisky something distinctive, ideally – or, if they are Visitor Centre staff, to the visitor experience there.
Guest author of Whisky-Experts, Stefan Bügler, dedicates his article to the people behind the St. Kilian distillery in Lower Franconia. His particular focus on the people who keep this distillery running with great joy and dedication shows them as an important factor in its success.
