Germany's largest whisky distillery once again supports the inclusion of visually impaired people with an innovative special edition Single Malt Whisky

Rüdenau, June 2023

On June 20, 2023, the German Federation of the Blind and Partially Sighted (DBSV) presented the German Audio Film Award for the 21st time in Berlin. At the festive award ceremony for the best audio film productions, St. Kilian Distillers presented a very special edition, just as they did last year. The German whisky distillery, which again acted as a sponsor of the gala this year, unveiled a single malt whisky bottling with a braille label. With this, the innovative company from Rüdenau in Lower Franconia once again sets an example for inclusion and support for people with visual impairments.

"We are proud to support the German Audio Film Award and to make a statement for accessibility. Our limited single malt bottling with a braille label is not only a symbolic act, but also allows us to financially support the German Federation of the Blind and Partially Sighted," commented Andreas Kreser, Director of Communication & Brand Development at St. Kilian Distillers. "When you see how difficult it still is for people with visual impairments in everyday life, but also in our society, it is a matter close to our hearts to help overcome these barriers."

The limited special edition "Deutscher Hörfilmpreis 2023" matured in a former sherry cask and, with its unique label in Germany, symbolizes the appreciation and recognition of diversity in our society. To support the great and important work, St. Kilian Distillers donates an amount of €10.00 per bottle to the German Federation of the Blind and Partially Sighted.

Available in limited numbers

The single malt whisky is neither colored nor chill-filtered and was bottled with an alcohol content of 50% Vol. in a bulbous 0.7 liter bottle. The retail price for the "Deutscher Hörfilmpreis 2023 Edition" is €79.90. The special bottling, strictly limited to 250 bottles, is available online at St. Kilian and in the shop at the visitor distillery.
