Press Release: New Single Malt Whisky "Don Matteo" - An Homage to the Charming Priest

Paloma Productions Media und Marketing GmbH dedicates a St. Kilian special bottling to the protagonist of the Italian TV series

The format featuring the astute and humorous priest Don Matteo, known from the popular Italian TV series, has already thrilled millions of viewers worldwide. The charming clergyman from picturesque Gubbio in the heart of Italy fearlessly solves even the trickiest criminal cases and experiences countless adventures.

St. Kilian Distillers' latest single malt whisky creation is commissioned by Paloma Productions Media und Marketing GmbH, the exclusive licensee of Terence Hill and rights holder of numerous TV and home entertainment rights by and with Terence Hill, as a special bottling for their official Terence Hill Shop. This single malt whisky pays tribute to the charismatic character of Don Matteo. The single cask bottling was produced with the same dedication and care that also characterizes the protagonist in his work as a priest and investigator.

As usual, only the finest barley malt was used for the single malt whisky, which was distilled twice in traditional copper pot stills. The distillate then matured for three years in a former 310-liter Ripasso red wine cask from the renowned Italian winery Lenotti from Bardolino on Lake Garda. This unique combination of German craftsmanship and Italian passion gives the Don Matteo Single Malt Whisky its characteristic and complex taste that touches body, soul and spirit.

The mild special edition impresses with its delicious aroma of red grapes, in perfect balance with spicy and warming elements. The fruity sweetness of the single malt whisky is accompanied by nuances of fine dark chocolate and delicate tannins.

Available in limited numbers from Wednesday, October 25th

The Don Matteo Single Malt Whisky is neither colored nor chill-filtered and was bottled at 48% vol. in the iconic 0.7-liter bottle. The label in a characteristic film look also gives this exquisite drop an appealing visual touch. The retail price for end consumers is €59.90. The special edition, strictly limited to 547 bottles, will be available from Wednesday, October 25th, at 11 am online at St. Kilian Distillers and directly at the distillery's shop.

Enticing fruit notes of red grapes, delicious strawberries and ripe peaches dominate the aroma, perfectly underscored by vanilla, subtly spicy notes and delicate oak tones.

Taste
Wonderfully fruity sweet with an abundance of juicy red grapes, ripe peaches and creamy vanilla, which combine with a simultaneous warmth and a subtly peppery spice to form a perfectly balanced melange, framed by fine oak spice.

Finish
Creamy strawberry jam and red grape jelly linger pleasantly long with a hint of dark chocolate, accompanied by warm oak notes and a fine tannin structure.
