From Naples to Rüdenau
Under this headline, blogger and whisky connoisseur Hagen Metzler writes an outstanding article about his trip to Naples, the hometown of Carlo Pedersoli, also known as Bud Spencer, and draws a line all the way to Rüdenau, home of St. Kilian, Germany's largest whisky distillery.

The vibrant city in southern Italy, with its numerous culinary delights, amazing sights, and above all, its warm-hearted people, helps one understand why Carlo Pedersoli claimed, "I am not Italian, I am Neapolitan."
The dormant Vesuvius outside the city gates is likely responsible for the charged and bustling atmosphere. After all, the volcano could erupt again any day. Naples simply suited Carlo Pedersoli, who didn't take himself, the world, or life too seriously and didn't hesitate even as the film star Bud Spencer.
A Bud Spencer exhibition, supported by the Pedersoli family, made the author realize, through film projections, film objects, private photos, and items from Bud Spencer's life, what radiance the star still possesses even post-mortem.
St. Kilian Bud Spencer Whisky
This brings us to St. Kilian. Germany's largest whisky distillery entered into a licensing cooperation with the Bud Spencer brand in 2020 and has since written a great success story with the popular film star. Read everything about the St. Kilian Bud Spencer Single Malt Whiskies, the record-breaking online tasting featuring the peated Bud Spencer Whisky, and many other delicious bottlings from St. Kilian in Hagen Metzler's article.
By the way: At this year's Concours International in Lyon, St. Kilian just won the gold medal with its peated Bud Spencer Single Malt Whisky. Well done!
Excellent casks, the best barley malt, traditional equipment – all of this is very important for excellent spirits. But St. Kilian thrives above all on its team, creative entrepreneurial spirit, and absolute dedication to good single malt whisky.
