St. Kilian Presents Smoky Single Cask Bottling to Bid Farewell to Master Distiller Zoltán Fódi

St. Kilian honors Master Distiller Zoltán Fódi, who has returned to his Hungarian homeland for family reasons after more than eight years at the Lower Franconian distillery, with a special single cask bottling. The entire St. Kilian team sincerely thanks Zoltán for his outstanding work and wishes him all the best for his future!

For the special edition, the distillate, made from Scottish peated malt with 80 ppm, matured for four years in an ex Tokaji Aszú barrique cask made of Hungarian oak, which Zoltán personally filled. The result is a smoky single malt whisky that combines the sweet elegance of the famous Hungarian white wine and the spicy aromas of the oak cask into a diverse taste experience.

Available now in limited edition

The Single Malt Whisky Special Edition is neither colored nor chill-filtered and was bottled with an alcohol content of 58.7 % vol in the iconic 0.5 liter pot still bottle. The bottling, limited to 419 bottles, is now available online at St. Kilian Distillers and directly at the visitor distillery shop in Rüdenau.

Sweet peat smoke, reminiscent of BBQ and juicy ham, combines with fruity notes of light grapes and ripe apricots, harmoniously complemented by a hint of honey, vanilla and subtle oak spice.

Taste
The wonderful fruit sweetness of light grapes and juicy apricots, paired with honey and creamy vanilla notes, combines with gentle, sweet peat smoke, warming oak spice and subtle walnut aromas.

Finish
Ashy smoke envelops the creamy, sweet mélange of light fruits, honey and vanilla, which lingers long with warming oak wood notes.
