St. Kilian Distillers presents gently peated Single Malt Whisky "Merry Christmas" from a cherry wine single cask

St. Kilian, the Lower Franconian whisky distillery from Rüdenau near Miltenberg, known for its experimental spirit and its award-winning whiskies and liqueurs, is delighted to announce a special Winter Edition. The gently peated Single Malt Whisky "Merry Christmas", which will be presented for the first time at the end of November at the InterWhisky trade fair in Frankfurt am Main, was matured in a unique cherry wine cask.

InterWhisky is one of the most renowned whisky fairs in Germany, attracting enthusiasts and lovers of the noble spirit from all over the world every year. From November 24 to 26, 2023, the 24th edition of the fair in the stylish ambience of the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten promises a very special highlight in the form of the Winter Edition "Merry Christmas" specially selected by St. Kilian Distillers.

The limited single cask bottling gained its unique character from barley malt, which was gently smoked over beech wood fires. The peated distillate then matured for six years in a 225-liter French oak cask, in which Danish cherry wine had previously been stored for at least 30 months. The result is a gently peated, multi-layered single malt whisky with a juicy fruit sweetness of red cherries, which harmonizes perfectly with the dark chocolate notes and captures the magic of the Christmas season in a bottle with remarkable depth.

Available in limited quantities from Friday, November 24

The St. Kilian Winter Edition "Merry Christmas" is strictly limited. The single malt whisky was neither colored nor chill-filtered with an alcohol content of 51.6% vol. a total of 492 bottles in the iconic still shape were bottled. Bottles of this exclusive special edition will be available from Friday, November 24, 2023, at the St. Kilian Distillers InterWhisky booth and in the distillery's online store.

Gentle smoke envelops the fruit notes of red cherries and ripe peaches, accompanied by delicate vanilla and fine oak spice.

Taste
The juicy fruity melange of red cherries and ripe peaches is accompanied by creamy vanilla and dark chocolate and perfectly balanced by warming oak notes with Christmas spices and a hint of tannins.

Finish
Creamy cherry jam lingers with dark chocolate, dry oak notes and a hint of smoke, full-bodied and pleasantly long.
