Rüdenau/Hannover, July 2025
An extraordinary event last Wednesday brought together two worlds that could hardly be more powerful: rock music and whisky. At the exclusive online whisky tasting celebrating the Scorpions' 60th band anniversary, St. Kilian Distillers presented two distinctive special editions that capture the spirit of the rock legends in liquid form – moderated live from the Irish Pub "Hop House" in Hanover to a small group of invited fans.
Scorpions founding member Rudolf Schenker, together with St. Kilian Master Distiller Mario Rudolf and Brand Ambassador Christoph Albietz, introduced the two anniversary whiskies:
- "Scorpions – Rock Believer" – a mild, unpeated single malt, matured in elegant German white wine casks.
- "Scorpions – 60 Years of Rock" – a single malt made from beechwood-smoked malt, which developed its unmistakable depth in striking tequila casks.

Both bottlings reflect the band's sound and soul: powerful, multifaceted, with character and international flair. Rudolf Schenker was particularly impressed by the high quality of St. Kilian whiskies – and was pleased to be able to emphasize "the sweet, gentle side of rock" with the white wine maturation of Rock Believer.
The atmospherically staged tasting was not only celebrated online: an exuberant atmosphere prevailed at the "Hop House" in Hanover. Fans from Germany and abroad experienced a first-class tasting, rarely seen in this form worldwide. Schenker cheerfully recounted countless anecdotes from six decades of band history – while Mario Rudolf and Christoph Albietz expertly and entertainingly guided the program. The on-site guests visibly enjoyed the mix of rock, whisky, and experience.
The event had already attracted media attention in advance. The response to the tasting was enormous: many bottles of the two Scorpions editions sold out in a very short time. But for all those who missed out, there's good news: a few bottles of the "Scorpions – Rock Believer" special edition are still available in the St. Kilian online shop and the distillery's visitor shop in Rüdenau – but only while stocks last.
Some of the limited tasting sets, exclusively available for the online event – featuring seven different St. Kilian Single Malt Whiskies and a highly aromatic wild berry liqueur – are currently also still available in the visitor shop in Rüdenau, Lower Franconia.
If you missed this ultimate event or would like to experience the electrifying atmosphere again: the complete recording is available anytime on the St. Kilian Distillers YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKN-hqPO5t4
An evening full of energy, emotions, and enjoyment – all in the spirit of Rock & Whisky.
