Germany's largest whisky distillery achieves a total of nine awards at the PARIS WINE & SPIRITS TROPHY, including Double Gold and Grand Gold

This year again, St. Kilian Distillers' whiskies and liqueurs have won numerous awards at international competitions. At the PARIS Wine & Spirits TROPHY 2022, one of the largest and most prestigious wine and spirits competitions worldwide, the whisky distillery from Rüdenau in Lower Franconia won a total of nine medals. "We are very proud of these awards, which show that our products are also convincing internationally. That's why we are constantly developing to continue producing whiskies and liqueurs of the highest quality," says Managing Director Philipp Trützler with delight. At the competition, which took place in Paris in October, wines and spirits from a total of 48 countries were judged by an international expert jury in a blind tasting. In addition to quality, the criteria of value, label design and packaging were also included in the evaluation formula. All whiskies and liqueurs submitted by St. Kilian Distillers received a convincing verdict from the expert judges and were awarded Double Gold, Grand Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.

The awards in detail:

• DOUBLE GOLD: Terence Hill – The Hero – Whisky (mild)
• DOUBLE GOLD: Bud Spencer – The Legend – Single Malt Whisky (smoky)
• GRAND GOLD: Terence Hill – The Hero – Voll auf die Nuss (hazelnut liqueur)
• GOLD: Terence Hill – The Hero – Whisky (smoky)
• GOLD: Signature Edition Ten – Single Malt Whisky
• SILVER: St. Kilian Liqueur made with Single Malt Whisky
• SILVER: Bud Spencer – The Legend – Feuerwasser (chilli-cinnamon liqueur)
• SILVER: Signature Edition Eight – Single Malt Whisky
• BRONZE: Bud Spencer – The Legend – Whisky (mild)

The smoky and mild whiskies from the Bud Spencer and Terence Hill series each convinced internationally with Double Gold, as did the full-bodied hazelnut liqueur "Voll auf die Nuss", which was awarded Grand Gold. Mario Rudolf is particularly pleased about the Gold medal for the Signature Edition Ten. With this single malt whisky, the focus was on the special aroma of various specialty malts. "From a brewer's point of view, too little attention is paid to the influence of the raw materials, especially the malt. Therefore, the Signature Edition Ten is a very special tribute to the mash bill, the malts we have available here at St. Kilian," says the Master Distiller about the single malt, which impresses with intense malt notes and dark toffee.
