St. Kilian Distillers Unveils Vino de Naranja Cask Maturation
Rüdenau, November 2024
St. Kilian Distillers from Rüdenau in Churfranken invites whisky lovers to a special highlight at the VII. Celtic Castle Festival at Thurnau Castle. From November 8th to 10th, 2024, visitors can immerse themselves in the mystical world of the Celts, accompanied by high-quality music, culinary delights, and, of course, exquisite whiskies.
As part of the "Whisky & Music-Experience," Andreas Kreser, Director of Communication & Brand Development at St. Kilian, will personally introduce the exclusive Celtic Castle Edition 2024. The new release is a mild, unpeated single malt whisky made from regional organic barley – the so-called "Heimatmalt" (local malt). This whisky matured for three years in an exceptional ex Vino de Naranja cask from Spain. The sweet, aromatic dessert wine, macerated with orange peels and traditionally produced in Spain, especially in the Andalusia region, gives the single malt a complex aroma profile and depth of flavor. It is characterized by a harmonious combination of fruity, sweet, and spicy aromas with a long, warm finish. A total of 250 bottles (0.5 liters) with an alcohol content of 58.7% vol were bottled.
Available in Limited Quantity
The strictly limited single malt whisky was neither colored nor chill-filtered and bottled in the iconic St. Kilian still bottle. Only a few bottles of this special edition will also be available from Friday, November 8th, 2024, in the St. Kilian Distillers online shop and on-site at the distillery in Rüdenau.
