ST. KILIAN DISTILLERS EXPANDS ITS LICENSE FOR THE SINGLE MALT "BUD SPENCER – THE LEGEND" WITH A PEATED EDITION!

With the latest single malt creation "BUD SPENCER – The Legend – PEATED", St. Kilian Distillers will be fulfilling the wish of many whisky fans from February 28 onwards, who want to enjoy Bud Spencer not only mild but also peated.
The fact that Germany's largest whisky distillery from picturesque Rüdenau in Lower Franconia is now among the world's best, particularly in peated whiskies, has been impressively demonstrated in various international competitions. For example, the Lower Franconians swept all awards at the London Spirits Competitions last year with the peated "Signature Edition Four". With 97 out of 100 possible points, the Four achieved more points than all other participants and was not only crowned Whisky of the Year but also Spirit of the Year 2020. St. Kilian was named Distillery of the Year. Therefore, it was no problem for Master Distiller Mario Rudolf and his team to bottle a truly smoky indulgence from the already substantial barrel stock, thus doing justice to both extremes of film hero Bud Spencer's character.

According to Andreas Thümmler, owner and managing director of St. Kilian Distillers GmbH, there are already various ideas to fill the range between mild and peated with further delicious drops under the Bud Spencer brand. Corresponding discussions with the agency, BAVARIA SONOR LICENSING, are already underway, according to Thümmler.

SUCCESSFUL LICENSING COOPERATION WITH BSL

Bavaria Sonor Licensing (BSL), a division of Bavaria Media GmbH, was commissioned by the rights holder Plattfuss Vertriebs GmbH to expand the product world around Bud Spencer and Terence Hill with licensing cooperations and corresponding licensed products throughout Europe. BSL mediated this licensing cooperation for the "Bud Spencer" brand to St. Kilian Distillers GmbH.

LAUNCH OF "BUD SPENCER PEATED" ON FEBRUARY 28, 2021

St. Kilian Distillers creates absolute premium whiskies for a global audience. For "Bud Spencer – The Legend – peated", noble Bourbon casks from the USA were again combined with Italian Amarone red wine cask notes. Of course, in proven St. Kilian "Made in Germany" top quality. This time, the barley malt comes partly from the Scottish Highlands and is, in the spirit of Bud Spencer, pleasantly peated.

PRODUCT INFORMATION ABOUT THE WHISKY

Made with Scottish barley malt, the peated Bud Spencer Whisky matured for over 3 years in Italian ex-Amarone and ex-Bourbon casks from the USA. It was double distilled in copper pot stills.

Tasting Notes

Colour	Light Copper
Nose	Spicy and smoky aromas followed by fruity wine notes
Taste	A clear sweetness on the palate, accompanied by dominant smoky aromas, a slight caramel note followed by spice and a pleasant dryness
Finish	Full-bodied, spicy, smoky, long-lasting

The Bud Spencer Whisky is bottled in a 0.7-liter bottle with a high-quality, robust appearance and a real wooden cork stopper. Its alcohol content is 49% vol.
The retail price for end consumers will be €49.90.
